What to expect
What’s normal
Vision may be blurry for 24 hours after the procedure.
You may have some light sensitivity for 2-3 days after the procedure.
You may see a “floater” in your vision after the procedure – this is expected to go away after 2-4 weeks.
Bathing/showering is OK after the procedure.
Wearing eye makeup is OK after the procedure
It is OK to resume normal activity after the procedure (exercise, etc)
Continue all regular eye medication(s) in both eyes.
Ask us about driving at your visit — and only drive once you feel comfortable and safe.
Your Eyedrops after YAG CAPSULOTOMY / Vitreolysis
Your Eyedrops
You’ll use one eyedrop after the surgery. Shake the bottles before using it; use all your other regular eyedrops. Wait 3 minutes between each medication. NO NEED TO TAKE DROPS OVERNIGHT. Spread drop times over waking hours.
Anti-Inflammatory #1
Prednisolone Acetate 1%
(Pink or White Bottlecap)
4x / day for 3 days
When to Call Us
Call right away if…
Severe pain not relieved by over-the-counter medication
A sudden decrease in vision
Increasing redness or discharge
New flashes, or a curtain/shadow over your vision
