Corneal Transplant Surgery for Keratoconus
A 26 year old woman with keratoconus, scarring, and wearing scleral contact lenses still did not allow her to see clearly. A year after surgery, without glasses, her vision is 20/30!

A 44 year old healthcare worker had a ruptured globe (dehisced PK, prolapse of the iris, lens, and anterior vitreous).
Dr. Jimmy Hu performed a series of 3 surgeries, in a step-wise fashion, to fix a complicated case.
Surgery #1: Repair of rupture globe, reposit intraocular contents back inside the eye
After successful surgery, her PK graft failed.
Surgery #2: Repeat PK, lysis of cornea-iris synechiae
After successful surgery, she developed a traumatic white cataract
Surgery #3: Surgery for traumatic white cataract, with iris-lens synechiae, a fibrotic anterior lens capsule, zonular dehiscence, Argentinian flag sign, a lens that wouldn’t crack, and a successful outcome.
After all was said and done, the patient had an excellent outcome, and her vision was better than ever before!

A 26 year old man with keratoglobus, corneal hydrops, and no vision in the eye for 1 year
A 77 year old man, had cataract surgery with multifocal lenses, and got hit by a car
Performing joint surgery with a retina specialist, the dislocated multifocal lens was removed from the eye, and a Yamane-fixated lens was placed in the eye.
The patient was able to see again, however he had traumatic mydriasis (damage to the iris sphincter muscles caused the pupil of his eye to remain fixed and dilated). The damage to the iris was causing significant light sensitivity and haloes/glare.
